Pattern Making:

From your concept design or just an idea, this is where the journey begins and your whimsical dreams come to life. Pattern making is the art of translating your idea and turning it into a garment.

All patterns are produced digitally using the latest Gerber CAD software. This can be from a garment or just a sketch. After which these pattern files can be converted into a globally compatible format and sent anywhere in the world.

Pattern Alterations & Modifications:

Pattern alterations are executed after your 1st sample has been made and fitted. You may need extra length or width in the garment or wish to alter the style lines. These alterations focus on particular parts of the garment that need tweaking and are crucial in achieving the desired fit.

It’s important the base size pattern is exactly as you imagined before you proceed to the grading process.

Pattern Grading:

The technical bit, my favorite! This has been a passion for many years, the more technical the better. The science of grading can be a mathematical nightmare to some and pure joy to others like me.

This is when your base size pattern is turned into a whole size set using industry standard grade rules (or yours if you prefer). Proportionally increasing and decreasing those magic numbers so all sizes look and fit aesthetically the same.

Digitizing & Plotting:

Maybe you already have a paper pattern that you need to be turned into a CAD file? Converting paper patterns into digital files ensures they can be accessed at anytime and sent anywhere. And not only that, they eliminate clutter and save space.

Any pattern can be digitized whether small or large using our Gerber digitizer and of-course, some of our skill.

Measurement Specifications & Tech packs:

A size spec sheet provides all the measurements needed to make all the sizes within your chosen size range. A blueprint if you like that manufacturers will follow to guarantee correctly sized garments come off the line. These are crucial for the production process.

Graded specs are usually created once the fit and the grade has been finalized and you’re ready to go, but all samples along the way will need their own base size specs for your sample machinist to follow.
